For The Chain.
For The Builders.

Kaspa is a fair-launched proof-of-work network running at 10 blocks per second, with covenants and native zero-knowledge proof verification. A native dollar could give its builders a stable unit of account for lending, trading, and everyday commerce.

KaspaDollar proposes a dollar backed by $KAS and settled on Kaspa Layer 1. $KDOLLAR brings community attention and fundraising support to that work. Share the mission, follow development, or donate directly.

$KDOLLAR is a volatile meme token. Holding it does not give you a dollar peg, a stablecoin balance, or a right to future stablecoin tokens.

The Work Behind The Cause

A Dollar Native
To Kaspa.

A stable unit of account could help builders bring lending, trading, and real commerce to Kaspa’s base layer. KaspaDollar aims to build that foundation with $KAS collateral.

The Proposed Design

250%
Minimum collateral to mint or withdraw. A vault needs at least $2.50 of $KAS per dollar minted.
200%
Below this ratio, anyone could partially liquidate a vault to restore its collateral ratio.
$1
Proposed redemption value in $KAS per KSD, subject to a valid oracle price and available collateral.
A Miner-Backed Price Oracle

Miners would include price votes in their blocks. A ZK proof would verify the votes and their median against KIP-21 sequencing commitments. Security depends on participation. Half of the price votes equals half of network hashrate only when every block votes.

If the oracle becomes stale, price-dependent actions would pause. Collateral deposits and debt repayment could continue.

KSD is a working label. Parameters and methods remain preliminary. Read The Proposed Design

Asa argues that early native DeFi activity could also help build the infrastructure and demand that established stablecoin issuers look for.

Why Not Focus On $USDT And $USDC?

KaspaSilver asked why fund a new stablecoin before a whitepaper instead of concentrating on established stablecoin support.

How Asa Explains The Sequence

He says centralized issuers cited limited expected volume and missing infrastructure. Waiting leaves the same gap: applications need a stable asset before meaningful DeFi activity can develop.

  1. 1

    Start With A Native Dollar

Build a stable unit of account on Kaspa Layer 1.

  2. 2

    Give DeFi A Foundation

Enable stable trading pairs and onchain lending applications.

  3. 3

    Demonstrate Real Use

Let builders establish infrastructure and demand.

  4. 4

Make Kaspa Ready For More Issuers

Address the conditions established issuers say they need.

This is a proposed route to adoption. No $USDT or $USDC deployment is promised.

The project is led by Alexander Safstrom (@asaefstroem), a Kaspa core developer and author of KIP-16.

The Vision For Financial Independence

Bringing KaspaDollar to Kaspa Layer 1 as a native stablecoin would move Kaspa closer to displacing entrenched financial authorities and the barriers they place on financial development. The ambition is a new era of true financial independence through the Kaspa network. People would be able to build on and use open financial infrastructure directly.

Is $KDOLLAR a stablecoin?

No. $KDOLLAR is the community fundraising meme token. Its market value can change. KaspaDollar is the separate stablecoin development initiative.

How does the meme support KaspaDollar?

100% of $KDOLLAR trading fees generated on KaspaRocket.fun are sent directly on-chain to the KaspaDollar Initiative wallet with every trade. The community also helps more people discover the initiative and its fundraiser. Check official $KDOLLAR updates or ask in the Telegram group for the applicable fee mechanics. The live fundraiser bar reports fee receipts and contributing trades from KaspaRocket. You can also donate $KAS directly through kaspadollar.com.

Does holding $KDOLLAR entitle me to future stablecoins?

No. This site makes no promise of conversion, redemption, an airdrop, or an allocation of future KaspaDollar stablecoins. The meme token and the proposed stablecoin have different roles.

Where can I buy $KDOLLAR?
Who is building the stablecoin?

The KaspaDollar initiative is led by Alexander Safstrom, a Kaspa core developer, known on X as @asaefstroem. Follow its official documentation for the current development plan.

What happens if the fundraising target is missed?

The official fundraiser states that direct contributions will be refunded if the 5,000,000 $KAS target is missed by January 1, 2027, subject to its published terms. Send from a self-custodial wallet for a direct return. Refund handling for exchange deposits requires additional verification. Meme-token purchases are outside those terms.

Can I help without buying a token?

Yes. Share the fundraiser, explain the mission to a friend, create community art, or contribute $KAS directly to the official fundraiser. Helping builders starts with showing up.
